The mission of the Pleasanton Cultural Arts Council (PCAC) is to encourage collaboration between artists, arts organizations, businesses, and the Tri-Valley area. The Kalaa Art & Design studio strives to develop a unique artistic voice, allowing for freedom of self-expression and creativity. Participating in extracurricular activities related to arts and fashion design can be a great way to demonstrate to schools and universities that you are an integral person and understand the value of the arts in society. Creative activities can be very rewarding and can even reduce stress throughout your academic career.
Kalaa Art & Design offers visual arts certificates affiliated with Florida Vedic Wellness University. The art and design class emphasizes four different facets of small-group art and design classes, which also allows for peer-to-peer learning experiences. By working with other arts organizations, civic partners, and people passionate about the arts, the PCAC has reached thousands of school-age children with excellent arts education programs, awarded unique scholarships to young emerging artists, brought concert bands to elementary and secondary schools, and helped provide art installations to the community. For over 38 years, the Pleasanton Cultural Arts Council has been supporting visual, literary, and performing arts facilities. The art curriculum is designed to gradually understand art appreciation and construction skills.
Initially facility-oriented, the PCAC gathered community support for the construction of a cultural arts building on Black Avenue to host artistic activities. Thanks to fundraising efforts, grassroots networks, and the vision of the PCAF, a partnership was formed with the city of Pleasanton to save the old fire station in historic downtown Pleasanton and turn it into the new Firehouse Arts Center. Dr. Sarah Wang, owner of the Happy Valley School of Art in Dublin, is the senior advisor to the Art Club and has been hugely supportive of their initiative. He attended the Luz Fine Arts Gallery to study painting and exhibited works at the San Mateo art exhibition for several years, winning several awards.
Fundraising was spearheaded by the sister organization, the Pleasanton Cultural Arts Foundation (PCAF). The Pleasanton Cultural Arts Council played an integral role in bringing the new Firehouse Arts Center to Pleasanton. The Art Club invited Sawsan Wolski, Vice President of Dublin Arts Collective, to their meeting to exchange ideas and find opportunities for collaboration. Nidhi L Sharda is the founder of Kalaa Art & Design studio in Pleasanton, California. She is an educator and researcher of visual art and design. The mission of PCAC is clear: to promote collaboration between artists, arts organizations, businesses, and Tri-Valley area residents.
Through its various initiatives such as providing excellent arts education programs for school-age children, awarding scholarships to young emerging artists, bringing concert bands to elementary and secondary schools, providing art installations to the community, and more - PCAC has been able to make a positive impact on Pleasanton's cultural landscape. The Firehouse Arts Center is a great example of how PCAC's efforts have come together with those of other organizations such as PCAF and Dublin Arts Collective.
