TITLE:
DEATH VALLEY SAND PATTERN
ARTIST: MICHAEL BINGHAM
Michael became attracted to photography as a means to communicate
his experience of the backcountry in western Washington State.
While in high school, he hiked many miles through the Olympic
and Cascade Mountains carrying a Pentax 35mm film camera, capturing
vistas to later share with family and friends.
His role as a photographer is to balance a scene's realism and
its essence in a pleasing composition that engages the viewer.
The challenge is to be receptive to all the factors — geography,
weather, season, light — that combine for a great image.
With advancing technology, Michael is now shooting entirely
digital and making his own archival inkjet prints. These advances
allow Michael greater control and creativity with his images.
An active member of A.R.T. Inc., Michael has exhibited at the
Adobe Gallery and Redwood Studio Mini Gallery. His photograph
"Trinity River with Fog in Winter" received the Award of
Merit.
Michael is a graduate of the New York Institute of Photography
and works out of his home in Hayward, California. |
