Owner, Studio 7 Fine Arts
E-mail: jaime.dowell@pleasantonartsfoundation.org
Now a Pleasanton resident, Jaime Dowell
grew up in Lafayette where her mother's artistic talents
and her father's musical tendencies shaped her love for the
arts. Pursuing her own vocal proficiency in high school,
Jaime was selected to sing for the All-State Honor Choir
and the State Regional Honor Choir as well as singing as
the lead for numerous musical productions, chamber music
concerts and jazz ensembles. Very active in musical theatre
for many years, her passions followed her to the University
of California at Davis, where she sang for the Chamber singers
and two jazz ensembles. At UC Davis she earned a degree in
Viticulture and Enology, which she says, "was the perfect way
to combine her love of art and science." After working
in the winemaking industry for 5 years, Jaime joined her mother
and sister in running their family art gallery, Studio 7 Fine
Arts, located in downtown Pleasanton, only one block from the
proposed Firehouse Art Center.
Now the sole-owner of Studio 7 Fine Arts, Jaime is continually
striving to grow the business and the presence of art in the
community. When she joined the dynamic group of art lovers
that make up the Pleasanton Cultural Arts Foundation, she saw
the perfect opportunity to reach out to the community in an
effective manner to ensure that the arts, both visual and performing,
have a strong place in the Tri-Valley.
